Species:   Troglodytes musculus

IOC English name:  Southern House Wren

A small bird, very common in urban centers, but that goes unnoticed by most people. Measuring between 10 and 13 centimeters, its plumage is completely brown, with lighter spots on the end of the wings and tail. This bird is always going into holes and cracks looking for insects. Being a close relative of the famous uirapuru, he is an excellent singer. Despite being small, it has a strong and varied corner. He likes to build nests inside human houses. It can be seen throughout the Campus of Praia Vermelha jumping through the trees or looking for food from the ground, having already seen nests of the species inside the Campus.
