IOC English name:
Yellow-bellied Elaenia
Also known as "Maria-é-dia", the Yellow-bellied Elaenia has an easily identifiable corner. It measures about 16 centimeters and is all gray, except for the wings, which are black with small white stripes, also sporting a large tuft. From the moment of feather change (between March and April), it shows a yellowish color in the belly area. It feeds on insects and small fruits, usually staying at the top of trees. It usually perches on more exposed branches when it sings. It can be easily heard throughout the Campus of Praia Vermelha.
