Popularly known as "jacu", it is a bird of the chicken family. The Rusty-margined Guan is a large species, measuring about 55 centimeters. Its plumage is dark brown, with white spots on the belly. Its head is dark, with a thin white stripe above the eyes, with a red chin on the chin, similar to that of chickens. It can be seen jumping through trees or walking on the ground, often in packs. Its food consists of fruits, flowers and leaves and its singing is very loud. She has already been spotted in a small band on the grassy part of the Campus of Praia Vermelha, almost certainly coming from the MONA region.
