This bird, very discreet, has characteristics similar to canaries. Measuring about 13 centimeters, it has a very yellow head, a light chest and belly and dark gray wings and back, with the female presenting more greenish tones. This species usually roams the trees looking for fruits, seeds and insects, which make up its food. It can be seen, occasionally, in the trees of the Campus of Praia Vermelha.
