Although few know this beautiful bird, it is relatively common in large cities, always present near green areas. Measuring about 15 centimeters, the male and female have mostly yellow plumage, with the difference that the male has a large black spot from the height of the eyes down to the belly. The wings of both are green, and the female also has greenish tones in her plumage. This species is almost always seen in couples, flying through trees and shrubs. Their diet includes small fruits and insects. It can be seen occasionally in the Campus of Praia Vermelha.
