The vulture is a well-known species in urban environments, and is usually seen flying in circles and in small flocks. It has a completely black body, with the exception of the wing tips, which are white. It measures between 56 and 76 centimeters in length and has a wingspan of around 1.43m. Their food consists of carcasses and remains of organic material, playing an important role for urban cleaning. He is an excellent glider and can be easily seen flying over the Praia Vermelha Campus at great heights in the company of treasurers and birds of prey.
